Sharps

by K.J. Parker, 449 pgs, paperback
Overall Grade: B+

The machinations in here are probably less convoluted than Parker's other novels. The story follows a fencing team on a goodwill, exhibition tour of a neighboring, erstwhile-enemy country. Each character brings some figurative baggage (financial, psychological, etc.) only a few are explained upfront.
